The Coffee House at West End: A Cozy Retreat for Coffee Lovers

I tried the strawberry fields matcha because of the cute name and the flavor matched the vibe! Gorgeous building! Truly love the black and wood modern sleek flare. This coffee house has 3 floors. Chill, laid back, relaxed vibe. People are here to work on homework, study or just simply try a new coffee. We came by just to check out the place, snag a few photos and try some coffee. I ordered the West End latte made with their west end syrup which is chocolate, caramel and coconut mixed together. It was yummy, their coffee is strong and the syrup did add a nice little flavor. My husband got the seasonal coffee of churro iced lattee which was not as sweet as I hoped for but it was good. Nothing too unique about the coffees but hey coffee is always delicious! Parking is pretty sweet, there is a parking lot right in front. It's super cute in there and make sure to check out the rooftop for some cool photos or to enjoy the fresh air on the patio furniture (if the weather permits).

I quickly fell in love with this place. It reminds me of a place long ago, a quite intimate place I used to visit. Plus, the historical part and being founded by the church makes it even more special. I think people who come here feel the same. I say that because it has multiple floors, and every inch of this place is crowded but very quiet. You can honestly hear a pin drop. You can barely hear a whisper even though the oversized, beautiful leather couches, chairs, and tables are right beside each other. But, you know, It's almost like I want to keep this place to myself, which is crazy because it's clear that a lot of people know it's here. But anyway, I get my cup of drip coffee and pastry, sit in one of the big, comfy chairs, and work for hours. I literally forget that so many people are around me. But, I will leave this review with this: since a lot of people sit for long periods like me, there is additional parking in the garage across the street.

I visited on a Sunday morning and had a great experience. I enjoyed my drink on the rooftop in pleasant weather (though seating is limited up there). Then, I moved inside to get some work done on my laptop. It was crowded but had a cozy atmosphere, which I appreciate on a Sunday.

With so many new coffee shops in Houston it's hard to know where to check out. I stopped by here because I saw their unique seasonal menus and was not disappointed! We tried the sweet evergreen latte and the dirty snowflake. I liked the dirty snowflake more. It was sweeter and the coconut flavor was tasty. The sweet evergreen latte was also good, less sweet and the hint of rosemary offered a unique spin on coffee. We visited on a Saturday 5pm (they close at 6pm) and it was packed! There was no open seating despite their three floors of seating options. Luckily we had made the decision come here as a quick stop before dinner. There was also a line to order and drinks took about 10 minutes to come. There is a decently sized parking lot that is shared with the actual West End Church. We were able to find a spot but got lucky because someone else was pulling out at the same time we arrived.

We enjoyed the west end latte with the chocolate muffins. The latte was delicious and definitely the signature - the muffin was delicious too. The coffee shop is really big but we went Saturday afternoon and it was packed. Too full we couldn't find a spot to park or sit inside. We had to jump to get a seat when people were leaving. The music and indoor noise was average and could be distracting if loudness is an issue. There is an indoor piano where people can come and play. I thought that was pretty sweet!

Great coffee and vibe!! This cafe is part of West End Church next door although it is for all people regardless of background. The community and staff here are always friendly and inviting. There's plenty of seating too. There's 2 indoor floors and a rooftop. The cafe has a rustic but modern touch to it. There's books everywhere on the second floor as well and few outlets. The coffee here is great. Their west end syrup is pretty sweet and delicious! Since it's next to the church, parking can be difficult sometimes, either in their direct attached lot or the lot across the church but there is also street parking. This place can get packed pretty quickly but always a good time!

Another coffee shop on my continued hunt to work on my dissertation all over the city. Coffee House at the West End really is set up for working, with ample space and floors to find spots, relatively easy parking, and coffee to stay awake. Even though its a pretty large coffee shop, it feels cozy with wood tones, sofa seating, high tables, and everything in between that I'm sure anyone can find a comfortable spot (if there are any left). You order at the cashier and people seemed friendly, I asked about the house latte since they have a special syrup and ended up getting it. I can't say much about the latte tbh, it wasn't super memorable and it just tasted like coffee? I'm still down to try their other coffees and pastries in the future though. Overall, a nice work space during the weekend but does seem to be pretty popular and can get crowded. Coffee wasn't amazing to me but I'm also not a huge coffee drinker so nuances are lost on me.

It was multistory with a lot of seating! It could fit around 40-50 people with all the floors it had! My only struggle with finding outlets. You should probably get there early to find a table if you want to do work. Latte was yummy with a lot of options for coffee, teas and beverages.

Despite their location in The Heights (#1), The Coffee House at West End has become one of my favorite places to enjoy some virtual work time with a caffeinated beverage. It has also served as a wonderful meeting spot with the occasional people wathcing, fabulous WiFi, and enough space to where nothing feels uncomfortable or stuffy. The building itself is historically significant, where it was built by the West End (Baptist) Church and utilized as a Sunday school for decades. Eventually it fell into ruins before finally being revitalized in the last decade. The coffee portion is only of the last few years, making this one of the city's most popular destinations for community, coffee, and solo work / study sessions. They've done such a great job with the space where it's like a lounge but also a versatile venue that could host a number of events. I especially love the third floor quiet area because it feels like a world away from everything else. The bathrooms are clean and the vibe is pleasant all around. As for the coffee, it's very well priced and very good. Mos items are $5 and under, with the exception of the Big Tex Latte ($6). The chai ($5 for large) and the west end late is ($5.50) is quite tasty with a bit of sweetness. I have been all about their cold brew ($5), drip coffee, and especially their iced matcha. For the most part, the service is polite and generally good about getting drinks out quickly. I wouldn't come here with a group of folks due to potential seating challenges. Parking is usually a cinch, since the they have a dedicated lot. ___________ (#1) Because clearly, this is my favorite neighborhood.
